Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground is one of the leading cricket venues worldwide. It is also called as Race Course Ground and Municipal Ground.
It has hosted many international matches since 1986 where India has scored maximum numbers of win. It is facilitated with all facilities and amenities for hosting such big matches. It has huge capacity of 15000 spectators coming in thousands to watch fantastic matches played here.
The stadium was established in 1935 at Saurashtra Rajkot. It provides the facility of Pavilion, dressing room, commentary box, VIP box, and seating chairs for all spectators. Alongside, it is facilitated with all essential utilities and features that are required in an International stadium.
History of Madhavrao Scindia Cricket StadiumTill now it has given 10 best one day international games. The Ground holds the significant moment of Indian cricket where India scored their second highest total at this very ground against Sri Lanka. Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in RajkotThis cricket ground is also called as Khanderi Cricket Ground as it is located in the region of Khanderi. It is place at a distance of 10 km from Rajkot main town and it is newest cricket stadium in Rajkot. It has been built with world class facilities and features to cover any international matches in India. Till today this stadium has given two sensational matches. Both were high scoring matches where in one day international, India lost to England by 9 marginal runs in one day international and scored win in T20 match against Australia in 2013.
The stadium has the capacity of 28000 people which will be upgraded to 40000 in coming days. The stadium has been constructed on the vast area of 40 acres land in the outskirts of Rajkot. It is constructed as sports complex with VVIP suites, fed lights, and international facilities. It carries indoor sports atrium facilitated with Volley ball court, Basket Ball Court, and Badminton court. The stadium is comprised of two outfields, one 90 yard and second 70 yard.
The architecture of stadium is designed with modern techniques which makes it world class structure in Rajkot. The stadium has been constructed with 3 stands and three entry - exit points to facilitate easy entry and exit for spectators. Wide spacious lobby at every row allows easy movement within the stands. The two wicket ends were given name of Pavilion End and VVS Laxman End. The stadium complex has been blessed with sixty boxes to amalgamate elite visitors during the cricket match.
History of Saurashtra Cricket Association StadiumSaurashtra Cricket Association Stadium was established in 2008 with modern facilities and proficiencies. For beginning, it has been used for organizing domestic tournaments such as Ranji Trophy. This stadium was highlighted during a Ranji Trophy match when Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja scored a triple ton on this ground. The first cricket one day international was played here on 11th Jan 2013 while first T20 match on 10th Oct 2013.
The construction of stadium started from 2006 and its land got acquired during 2004. The construction was done at rapid speed and it got completed within 2 years. The total cost incurred to create this stadium is around 75 crores in Indian rupees.
Indoor Stadium in RajkotRajkot has a sophisticated and world class indoor stadium as well to host international sporting events. This stadium built by Rajkot Municipal Corporation is spread over a large area with double layered roof.
It has high standard construction design and well laid out structural system to facilitate obstruction free viewing for all the spectators. Due to the same, this stadium received national level award for structural excellence in 2005.
